Ather Energy is set to establish its third manufacturing facility in Aurangabad Industrial City, Maharashtra, with an investment exceeding ₹2,000 crore. This new plant will have the capacity to produce up to one million vehicles and battery packs annually. The Bengaluru-based company’s third plant is expected to create employment for 4,000 individuals.

“Ather’s decision underscores Maharashtra’s significant role as a prime destination for automotive innovation investments. This substantial investment and Ather’s choice of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar highlight the region's potential to spearhead Maharashtra’s growth. The effective connectivity provided by the Samruddhi Expressway is attracting more investors to this area. This major investment will not only strengthen Maharashtra’s position in the electric mobility sector but also boost employment opportunities across the state,” stated Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, in a post on X.

He further mentioned that the new manufacturing facility will support Maharashtra’s development. “This decision reflects Maharashtra’s favorable business environment and strong policies for electric vehicle manufacturing, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for India’s industrial growth,” he added.

Previously, Fadnavis mentioned in an interaction with *Businessline* that he aims to attract Tesla, the American multinational automotive company, to Maharashtra.
